Kids Fairy Costumes

Do you know what they’re dressing up as yet?
What exactly are your plans for the night?

Aaaand if you could read my plans and offer up your opinions that would be great too:

My daughter will be a year old (her birthday is October 23rd) and I’m pretty sure we’ve decided on her being a fairy/pixie for Halloween. I don’t have the costume yet, I’m probably going to make most of it unless I can find something I really like to buy. We’re definitely going to take her trick or treating…but I know her grandparents (who live 30 minutes away) are going to want to see her, and they also live in a really nice neighborhood which would be ideal for taking her around. But I ALSO wanted to take her around OUR neighborhood and since she’s not going to be trick or treating for hours on end, I thought she would enjoy sitting with her daddy and I and passing out candy to all the other kids for a bit. (I think she’d like the people watching opportunity.) I suppose we could do this at her grandparents’, but I would really like to do it at our own home (we just purchased it and moved in back in August, so everything is a 1st there for us)…I’m not sure how open my in laws would be to coming to us as they take Halloween pretty seriously. LOL Camped out in their driveway for hours on end, that sorta thing. I mean, I’d hate to basically say "Well you can either come here or not get to see her on Halloween" but I also don’t think what I would like to do should be set aside to accomodate their plans…what would you do in this situation?

We have fairy costumes for everyone, they’re making their own "garden" with candy; there are bubbles; making fairies out of bears; and movies for that night. No Tinkerbell please.

u tell ur kids all year not to take candy from strangers ~ except for halloween- lesson: u can take candy from stranger IF you wear a costume

a stranger breaking into your house is usually a bad thing, call the police~ except when Santa comes- lesson: it’s okay for a stranger to be in the house IF he’s fat, old and leaves us stuff

the tooth fairy exsists teache children to sell their body parts?

these are a couple things that my husband thought of the other day while we were decorating the tree. i found it really funny.

When I was a kid, Halloween was about scaring the hell outta each other… people would decorate their houses to look like old graveyards and lie in wait for trick or treaters to come by to pounce out and yell… I remember one house had an electric chair with a "corpse" in it holding a bucket of candy…
Now Halloween is all cutesy and sissy la-la… Jack o’ lanterns are made to look like friggin Care Bears and the costumes are all fairies and pirates… I hardly ever see anyone decorate for Halloween anymore

Okay so i have a list of the costumes that i would like to be… If u have any suggestions other than this… Im a kid and i have brown hair and blue eyes and am a major girly-girl so no like Micheal Jackson or whatever! Okay so here are some of them…

Okay… so I teach kids how to ride at a barn and for the day before Halloween lesson we are doing a scavenger hunt on horseback. Me and my friend Karin are going to go and hide with our horses and give the kids candy when they find us. Therefore, we are dressing up with our horses to make it more fun.

So onto the actual question. I have a Tobiano paint named Rosie that I am going to ride and I am going to be a fairy, and she will be a fairy horse. I have my costume but need ideas for hers. help! This is what I have so far:

Rosie:
french braid in mane
flowers in mane and tail (fake) What kind should I do?

Me:
fairy wings
old homecoming dress
tiara

So obviously I need help with this. Any ideas for me or my horse would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

P.S. I can’t do wings on her because I don’t have a place for them and don’t want to spend the money on another pair.
